Welcome to the 2016 Feast of Tabernacles site in Cyprus Hills, Saskatchewan!
We are returning to this beautiful location situated in the midst of a pine forest—a magnificent oasis in the heart of Saskatchewan. This area comprises Canada’s first Interprovincial Park and Dark-Sky Preserve spanning the southern Saskatchewan–Alberta border. The steep rises, lush valleys and pine-scented breezes add a refreshing complement to the surrounding prairies.
The area is recognized for its many special features and about 700 species of plants and animals. These also include 14 rare species of orchids. Expansive lodgepole pine forests can be found, which were used to provide poles for masts for sail ships in the past. You may discover a unique geology with a rich and fascinating cultural/historical significance, not to mention the highest elevation between the Rockies and Labrador, a gorgeous park where the pines touch the prairie sky.
Brethren will be lodged at the Cyprus Hills Resort, which offers a variety of lodging possibilities, from hotel rooms to townhouses (Condos) with kitchenettes, and cabins with outdoor fire pits and kitchenettes. Some units are wheelchair accessible and there is an elevator in the main building where services will be held. A beautiful restaurant located in the main building will offer meals every day at very good prices. In addition, they will provide us with a meal in between services on the First and the Last Great Day.
Cobble Creek Hotel in Maple Creek (20 minutes away), will also be available for those who wish to stay there. For lodging details and prices, please click on the Accommodation tab at the top of this page.
The Feast site will be hosting its visitors starting on October 14th, 2016, to allow Feast goers to keep the Sabbath of October 15th on site, with a regular Sabbath service. The Resort will keep the prices of the accommodations the same for those who would be arriving on the 14th.
The Resort also offers many opportunities to enjoy nature with various walking trails and biking paths (bring your own bikes). The Resort provides free firewood for the fire pits. There is also a lake just down a walking path from the resort, which offers beautiful scenery and a relaxing atmosphere.
For international travelers, two airports are available. The Regina international Airport http://www.yqr.ca (about 5:30h drive from the Feast site) and Medicine Hat, Alberta Regional Airport http://www.city.medicine-hat.ab.ca/index.aspx?page=167 (about 2h drive from Feast site).
Weather: The Feast being late this year, we may have cooler days; please plan to bring warm clothes. We may also have some outdoor activities in the evening so plan accordingly.
