Madayaw! The Living Church of God will be observing the feast of tabernacles on a beautiful, peaceful venue: the Lantaw Bukid Resort. Lantaw Bukid is overlooking a mountain, which we can look over to at anytime and feel there is indeed a "mountain" which we can go up soon in the kingdom of God.
Davao lies South-East of Mindanao Island and is the largest city in the Philippines. Davao has an existing reputation of being a peaceful, orderly and clean city. No one is seen smoking in offices, places of worship or in public buildings and drugs are shunned. One can get to the site through air, ferry or ship. Land transportation is plentiful and is moving around the clock. Accommodations in cottages and dormitories are nice and have air conditioned rooms with their own showers and bathrooms. Housing cost is below 200-350 pesos per night. The venue offers free use of its facilities, should you want to dip in the pool to cool off, throw a ball into the basket for a goal, or engage in a table tennis game, go boat riding, fishing or simply jog around in its premises.
There are many scenic spots for one to wander to see, among others like the Philippine Eagle Centre, the Eden Nature Park and the Crocodile Park. Davao offers a variety of tropical fruits such as lanzones, mangoes, pomelo and the controversial durian fruit that tastes like heaven as they say and smells like hell.
The Davao brethren are a mixture of several dialects, Ilocano, Tagalog, Ilonggo, Waraywaray, Cebuano, Boholano, Mandaya, but all desire and would listen and want to talk in English, which is our major tongue in conducting the Festival services and other programs.
We look forward to seeing you at the Feast.
*Overseas visitors are welcome, but it is advisable to check the travel advisories prior to coming. Our area pastor Mr Felipe Casing should be contacted prior to making travel arrangements. Our Philippine brethren, or overseas Filipinos, are quite able to safely visit this site.
