It is exiting to announce that for the first time the Feast of Tabernacles will be kept in Tanzania. It will be held at the Monarch Beach Resort, in the west part of Tanzania. The Resort is situated on a private lakefront Beach in Nansio, the capital city of Ukerewe.
Ukerewe is the largest island in Lake Victoria as well as the largest island in Africa. Monarch Beach Resort is one kilometer from the Ferry Terminal to the west. From the Monarch Beach Resort one can take a motor bike to a village located under the banana and orange trees; you can also go to the Halwego Viewpoint, the highest point on the island with rocks and caves. From the Irondo viewpoint you will be able to view Mwanza city in Tanzania, Entebbe in Uganda and Nairobi in Kenya.
The shoreline of Ukerewe Island is carved into numerous bays and it is surrounded by 38 small islands surrounding the neighborhood, with three of them unoccupied by humans and the rest occupied by fishermen and their families. Part of the activities there includes introductions to local fishing, canoeing, biking, and village tours.
A few other sites include agricultural activities in which the residents farm maize, sweet potatoes, millet, cassava and rice.
Feast services will be conducted in the Monarch Beach Resort as well as meal services to all Feast goers.
