Nestled next to the stunning red cliffs of Zion National Park in the great southwest (bounded by the states of Arizona and Nevada), sits the beautiful green valley of St. George, Utah. This inviting location, will again serve as our 2016 Living Church of God Feast of Tabernacles site in the Rocky Mountains.
As many experienced last year, St. George, Utah is an incredibly beautiful place to worship God! Family friendly, at reasonable prices, there is a variety of beautiful condos, houses, resort facilities and hotels; golf courses, recreational venues, great places to visit, with many specialty eateries, even those that cater “gluten free”.
No wonder St. George has something for everyone! At a comfortable 2860-foot elevation, the St. George – Zion National Park area has been long known for its relaxed atmosphere, active outdoor activities, magnificent mountain, desert and scenic Virgin River views, world-class spas and celebrated cultural venues. All this, while still within easy driving distance to three of the most famous natural tourist attractions in the world: the Grand Canyon (north rim), Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. So it is no surprise this unique spot has become very popular. A number of movies have also been filmed next to the spectacular red rock cliffs which is rich in history. Today, St. George is a thriving area served by Las Vegas International Airport via Interstate 15.
Activities this year are sure to please! With much to do, St. George – Zion offers fun family activities, such as miniature golf, bumper cars and boats, arcades and bowling at the Fiesta Fun Center. Very popular last year, plans are for this venue to serve as our 2016 Family Day location.
Also planned is an exciting fully narrated motor coach tour of Bryce Canyon National Park, with box lunch and buffet supper included. If you have not seen this unique National Park you will not want to miss it; or of course you can do your own exploring at Grand Canyon (North Rim) Park (before the feast), Hoover Dam and or Zion National Park (during the feast), all easily accessible from St. George.
You can also explore the Staheli Farm’s annual corn field, rides, and related activities for an afternoon of fun "on the farm" (which was not available last year). An optional Chuck Wagon Supper, for those who would like additional family fun, is also available. Plus, horseback, jeep and off-road vehicle tours; mountain biking; nature and wildlife adventures; coupled with a variety of parks and recreation areas; Johnson Farm Dinosaur tracks site and museums, offerings that will delight most any taste in family adventure to explore God’s natural beauty!
Three of our highlighted 2016 Feast evening events, are: the St. George Festival International Culinary Hospitality, Reception and Dance; and a pre-feast-trip to the Tuacahn (pronounced two-a-con) outdoor stage production of Hunchback; and finally the beautiful music family friendly environment of Brighman’s Playhouse, performing, live: Oklahoma! It is like God said we will make beautiful music together this Feast in St. George Utah!
The Falls Event Center will host our International evening. We will have the entire building to ourselves, with many unique and delicious foods, beverages, activities and music are planned, plus dancing!
Couple with that, one of our most popular activities from last year, this year a (pre-feast) trip to the “under the stars” water, lighting and “high” wire special effects, stage production at the Tuacahn (pronounced two-a-con) Amphitheater. A most unique performing arts venue in the nation for families, set next to the towering red cliffs in Stone Canyon Utah State Park, where temperatures will likely be in the 70s during the day and 50s in the evening, just perfect for another (or your first) trip to Tuacahn!
Finally, special arrangements have been made -- securing the entire theatre -- for a premier “first run” live stage and musical production of Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s, Oklahoma! Beautiful musical for families of all ages, all welcome to sing along in this family friendly atmosphere at Brighman’s Playhouse.
It is clear, evening activities in St. George will not lack for enjoyment! Of course, the crème de la crème throughout the entire Feast 2016 will be strong spiritual meat as we had last year, including a great Friday evening Bible Study; along with our DELS, First and Last day Luncheons, plus senior's activity.
